Default FAST XFI Setup?

I was looking into the FAST XFI setups. Seems they do make a setup for LT powered cars but I'm a little unclear on exactly what you would need.

I want to build my car into a very serious daily driver, I know that sounds like a play on words or something. Anyway I would like to ditch the factory gauge panel in favor of some Autometers, but I still want to keep the AC and radio. It seems like from what I've read I could get away with a stand alone type harness and ditch the factory ECM all together? Like I said I still want to keep AC, all my interior lighting, and power functions(ie windows door locks).

What about getting rid of the Opti as well, is there any conversions out there aside from LTCC?

Thanks for any help.

true rear mount distributor is one option along with a crank trigger... both myself and tony shepherd have XFI and we have crank triggers and low profile distributors....

however we also both have single plane manifolds with a provision for a dizzy. You'd have to modify your LT1 intake to accept the dizz cause the hole isn't there to begin with. You can do the XFI standalone but i'm not sure what effect it would have on AC. I'm going to think it wouldn't have any effect. FAST XFI has thought of everything nowadays. they make an opti harness so the XFI will plug directly into the opti and drive it....

You can ditch the factory gauge panel for autometers easily. the xfi box won't care as it has a plug in for RPM somewhere else.... all the other stuff it doesn't care about unless you purposely wire it in to datalog it or track it... Like oil pressure for example. You can use one of 4 analog inputs from the fast for stuff like that. some ppl do fuel pressure, oil pressure, nitrous pressure, trans temp, etc.... The%

I had a harness built by Brian Macey @ Fast Track for my 93, allows the Fast to control the engine but allow you to keep the stock computer to control some of the other accessories, run gauges like stock, wasn't cheap.

I did the same thing, he is at Horsepower Connection now, he built me the same harness so my XFI would run the motor and the stock computer will run the rest of the car. Of course I ended up going with a Manual Valve Body shortly thereafter so I basically paid $500 to see my stock gauges work lol.

Does the FAST system come with all the sensors needed to run itself? I have a 93Z so it's got no MAF and I really don't want to use anything from the factory in this car again. This car's wiring was so hacked up that I plan on rewiring the entire car with a Painless harness.

Uhhhh it comes with a wide band o2... all the other sensors are standard GM sensors... so if you have existing sensors the XFI harness will plug right into them. I bought a new TPS, reused my MAP sensor but remotely mounted it (Single plane). Coolant temp sensor reused, IAC sensor came with my new 4 barrel TB, IAT I bought a new one....

I think that's all of em. You won't use your MAF since the XFI is a speed density based system... and you being 93 you don't have one so you're good....

As far as rewiring that's what I did. I completely ripped out the entire wiring harness from my car and started from scratch with a painless pro street wiring harness and switch panel. Worked great...

I appreciate the help, I'm looking into more of a street friendly setup than you have with my interior. I would still like to keep my power windows and locks as well as my cruise and ac. I do want to loose the factory gauge panel and use all autometers. I think the larger 18 circuit harness should have it all covered for me. With the way this car was spliced and tapped under the dash, in the doors, and under the hood I'm afraid to trust it. I would just rather start from scratch and know it's all new.

So what would it cost, roughly, to have a harness made so that you can still retain the stock gauges and a/c. I have seen several FAST XFI cars like this just never realized it was really expensive to modify the harness.
