need help asap

need help asap +well about a week ago i took my 93 z28 down the track heres the good thing it ran a 13.4 with shortys intake an a cut-out,
-but now its acting up i kno part of the prob is the opti,
+i orderd one the other day called a dinaspark is it a good opti,
-but my car has been backfiring and if im crousing at 40 mph the rpm's will be at 1400 an drop to 1100 kinda like a cam at idle,
-an i dont have one will my new opti fix this
+ooooo an i ran the 13.4 with a failed opti lol

sorry ok well my z28 has been acting up this past week and it has a hard time starting and when im driving at about 40mph the rpms will be at 1400 and then drop an rise back up to 1400 im just wondering if its my opti or something else?
