Will the shims included with the kit fit over the stock iron head valve guides?
Will stock LT1 rocker arms work with the 10308 retainers?

if you punch up both part #'s (10308 and 10309) on Crane site you should be able to compare ID sizes.

The "shims" with the 10308 most likely are 'spring locators" which are required on AL heads but not iron.

10309 is the # for iron heads
