Haven't had any luck finding them for an LT1, sphon makes a nice set for the LS1.

Yea, let me know, I have poly inserts but I think the more I read the more I wanna go solid and get it over with while the motor and Kmember are out of the car.

i bought a set from madman and i did have to drill one of the holes out on the d/s mount the they're awsome. and they werent too bad price wise.

 

Question for any of you who have run the solid mounts, did they cause much nvh and did they cause false knock? I have a set of the Moroso's which I never installed and I have a new engine and tubular K-frame going in in the next two weeks and I'm thinking about using the solid motor mounts with it.

 

I've got Morosso's. Knock is ever so slight and false at best. Sure tightens things up though. No regrets here.

I've got the Moroso's also, I didn't pick up any more knocking on DataMaster with them, did have a slight vibration at idle, and yes, they do tighten things up!

 

Would those vibes make the car annoying as a sunny day DD car that gets driven a few hundred miles a week?

Not sure why you would want to put solid motor mounts on a DD bolt on car. Very little will be gained and it may just drive you crazy. Quite a few guys run poly in 9 second rides. If it was a dedicated drag car I wouldnt hesitate to run the solids. No need to ruin your street car IMO.

 

Was more an academic question than anything, as I already have poly mounts.

 

I see. Yeah there really would be little reason to switch. What you have will handle alot of power. Many of the FI guys running turbos go to the solids not from just a power perspective, but more out of necessity due to the tremendous amount of heat that comes off of the hot side and eventually melts the mounts. And at this time you dont have that to worry about.

In the future if you do start making big power I could see going to a solid mount but still would avoid it if its a street car.

 

I run solid motor mounts in all of my cars and haven't noticed any additional harshness, I was concerned because none of my other cars have "knock sensors".

 

you guys must have an extremely smooth running engine, or a super plushy seat. i can most definitely tell i have solid mounts.

 

Same here. Would not want for a DD.
