Default v-band clamps, taking them off?

I got some v-bands welding on my headers, but I can't get them off?

I'm trying to take of the headers to do my head gaskets. Look like this.

I took off the screw, all the way off, now what? Header isn't budging after this step.

Pry them off w/ a flat head screw driver.

A screw driver under the shoulder of the clamp should set it free.

If that doesn't work, a flat screwdriver sat on either one of the open ends and tap with a mallet will flex them open and off.

Here is a trick to seating them back correctly for leak free tightness. While tightening the clamp, hit the clamp hard with a plastic mallet. Tap and turn, it will vibrate the ends of the pipes together and in place.

Good luck.

I put such clamps on and off ducts everyday at work, and there is another type which is a 2 piece non flexible, and we never use any sort of sealants or glues. The nut on the clamp is also supposed to be self locking.

The 2 flat sides seat correctly against eachother and seal perfectly (as long as you tap it to make sure they aren't just stuck at and angle and are seated right).
