FYI you will be safe with the PAC 1218's. It's not that particular spring, it's a bad batch of Comp 918's that were made in Mexico that were the ones breaking. The PAC stuff is USA made and you never hear of failures. So rest assured the 1218's would be the way to go. If you want to spend the extra cash and get the 1518's that's fine but you really don't need to.

I used to run Comp 918's .... I had them break on me and thank god I didnt drop a
valve ! I now run PAC 1518's and will NEVER run any other spring than PAC's . Best
advice I can give is NEVER skimp on Valvetrain parts because it will bite you in the *** .

Hmm, sounds like good advice, however I've been running the 918's on a fairly strong motor with about a dozen passes at the track, no problems yet. But then , i'm missing 50 HP , don't think the springs have anything to do with that though.

i'd run 1218s with the hotcam... 1518s handle more intense lobes and higher lift, and will also last longer since they're nitrided. i remember a pac rep saying in testing of repeated open to coil bind compression they've never had a 1518 failure... ever

Maybe a few pulls on the dyno might tell you otherwise. How is it your post count never goes up? Just curious.

Would the pac 1218's be good enough for the cc503 or cc306? I looked on their website and I couldn't find where they're listed for LT1's, just LS1's. Is it the same for both engines?

Absolutely, that would a great spring for either cam and they are the same.
