Default Car want's to die.

I'm driving on the freeway doing 65 and the car's rpm's go all the way down to 500 and it comes right back up to normal. All the lights on the gauges flash and the the trip resets and goes to zero. Any one have any ideas? I have a dynospark opti with 4xxx miles on it.

TIA

That is a battery, loose ground/terminal, or alternator issue. Trip resetting is a dead giveaway.

agreed. check all your wire connections going to your battery/chassis/alternator. is your battery new ? i was having similar problems when my battery had **** the bed. i had replaced it with a yellow top optima and the car has literally never run better

Even with a dead batt. your alternator "should" prevent that from happening and it didn't. So take your alternator to auto zone or where ever and have them do a check.

The positive and the negative battery terminals where a quarter turn loose. It's been two days and it's been fine. The battery is 2 years old still have the warranty. I'll take the alt in to get it checked out.

Thanks
