installing my cam

im installing my cam and im wondering what grease or oil you guys use to lubricate your cams

comp cams makes a lifter and cam installation lube it worked well for me

i use lubriplate assmbly lube, and rotella oil for initial startup and break in..

Roller cams don't really need a break-in period, which is why motor oil works fine.

i purchased the comp cams lubricant just to be safe, after how many miles would you suggest changing the oil for a fresh motor

fresh motor or just a cam swap? for a fresh rebuild the rule of thumb is after about the first 20 mins of run time and with just a cam swap you can get away with more but I'd still change it after the first 30 just to be safe plus the assembly lube gums up the filter pretty good
