Default cam?

define "slightly upgraded cam". Specs would be helpful to give you a hp ballpark.

Shorties? What are those I take it you have a A4? If so, I'm guessing you will land in the 315-330 range

Are those the Edelbrock shorties with half the tubes being 1 1/2" and the other 1 5/8"? If so, they might limit you somewhat.

True that..if you need to stay emissions friendly the Mac Mids are a quality header. I ran them on my first set up and they def made a nice change.

The Mac mids will not be legal on '96 and newer since you cannot place the cat in the same location for the drivers side....welcome to KOMIFORIA
The shorties do not "KILL" near as much power as many attempt to suggest.

We should discuss the usable HP/TQ the OP will have for his set up at the RPM in which he is able to use it in...

The cam you have is small enough to not be affected by the lack of Lt headers, it will help with a tad more TQ i agree with the above HP #s 315-330 range either way keep up the work and definately add some 1.6 rockers to that set up providing your springs are NOT STOCK....

Well mine being bone stock with stock cubes and all free mods but had LTs with full exhaust. I had just over 300 to the tires so you might will have 320 give or take with ur setup for sure. But I will say 318 hp 329 tq

the whole shorties kill power is an LS1 philosophy that people apply to LT1s. they do help. i believe my redline is 6200. 1.6s will be going on when i start my LT4 build

Those Edelbrocks headers were one of my first mods, along with a Borla catback and a Callaway Honker cold air intake(still on car). IMO, those headers just flow a little better than stock oem manifold.

Well the stock bricks are so bad, any decent headers even shorties for an LT1 really tickle its feet.

I ran edlebrock shorties for a while and they are a good upgrade over stock manifold's for people who want to stay 50 state smog legal.

I ran a 13.6@102 with just shorties and intake! with an auto....Couldnt tell ya what it made in hp tho.
