Never had an F body but I drive my LT1 equiped Y body in the snow.... 285 40 r17 GY GSD3s are not all that good in the cold but I managed for a couple of winters in Colorado Springs before moving further south.

A-MEN! couldnt of said it any better!
Some people will hate me for this but my car had never seen snow until I got it. It's a DD and with snow tires on it does better in the snow than any other car I've driven. Every time I see a stuck s2000 / bmw out there I have a good laugh. I have better grip than a lot of soccer moms driving SUVs on the way to work.
If your car is immaculate then yeah store it. If you have the minor crap that 10 years of fun will cause, like swirl marks and minor dents, I'd say slap some snow tires on and go crazy. If you're careful you can pull off driving it without damaging it. Just keep it washed (undercarriage too!) to keep the rust off and buff it out in the spring. She'll still shine and you won't have to deal with driving a POS for 4 months.

when your floorboard rusts out and your spending thousands at a body shop for new rocker panels and floors, you'll know why i won't drive mine in the winter. rust kills cars. been there done that. i'm saving this one.

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do... and there was a time when I had to DD my T/A when it snowed, and it was always a handful.
Back when it was stock it was difficult but fun, as I started modding it... it was a lot of work being behind the wheel and the chances of getting stuck increased. With no traction control and a 6 speed I used to put it in 1st, let the clutch out, and while it sat there spinning I would get out and throw sand under the tire and jump back in. It always drove sideways and it killed me rubbing my expensive Z-rated tires along the curbs. Those rides started to age me!
Now It's modded and lowered to the point that in won't make it out of the driveway when it snows. My new DD laughs at the snow, curbs and anything else I throw at it, and I've started to reverse the aging process!

A pressure washer solves a lot of this issues. Keep that salt off. We have a lot mile garage kept collectors editon buick wagon, no winter driving, rusty as hell, My car with 168k, all season driving. Spotless. Even on the axle.

Driving an F body in the snow is half the fun of owning one. It will teach you to read terrain and conserve momentum like almost nothing else. These skills will come in handy on a autocross or road course later on, when you are trying to go fast.

yeah i definately keep the salt off mine. i did drive it one warm day last february that i thought the salt was all off the roads but i got a little bit on my ground effects and wheel well areas. i wiped it all down with a damp cloth and then the next day it rained really good and the day after that i was at the car wash getting a full wash w/ underbody spray. call me **** but i hate rust.

I know what ya mean by that rust, it gets in there good alright. Had to take mine out again today along some side roads on bald tires. I think I was more sideways than straight. Poor wife was stranded at work with a dead Batt in the truck, and our lil front drive Korean Puddle Jumper met a curb a few weeks ago. Trans am to the rescue in 15 degree weather runnin like a top. Lol.
