LS truck fuel pump Hey, guys, I know this isnt the right section, but Im not a member on the truck site. Figured some of you may know some things about these trucks. Just helping a friend. My buddy has an 02 Silverado, and a couple months ago somebody (that didnt need to be fooling with wiring) put a CD player in his truck and it messed with all of his gauges. Well, he keeps driving it and a couple weeks ago it shut off with him one day. He thought it was the fuel pump(thought he run it out of gas and maybe the pump burnt up?) and replaced it and still nothing. Come to find out he has no power to the pump. Says he checked all relays and what not and all looks good. . . Any ideas? Did the screwed up cd install job cause an ignition problem finally? The ruck will turn over but not crank, and says no lights or codes. He did check that. Thanks in advance. . . .
Check the ECM B Fuse..or ECM 2 Fuse..something like that. I have a 1999 Sierra and the FP went out, it killed that Fuse. It would crank over but no FP when it went out. Once I replaced that and the Fuse it was good.

Precciate it. He said he checked, but not sure if he checked everything. Going to try to go look at it myself this weekend.

They had some problems with the wiring on the fuel modules in the trucks and Suv's. Some would blow the ECM B fuse. Usually if the fuse was blown, the wiring in the module would be burned. The new fuel pump modules come with a new style harness connector.
Yup..my wiring was burned up. I got the Delphi replacement one from O'Rielly's and it came with new wiring that was a direct swap in.

Well. . . . his gauges still dont work, and Im sure thats got to do with the cd, but. . . . altleast his pump runs and he can get to work. The rest is between him and the electrician
