Ok guys i wanted some advice on a setup.? First im new to this site and my new car so im buying a 96 WS6 from a friend of my bros. Its got a lt1 bored .30 is what he said he told me its a 355 is that true? The enigine was completely rebuild and the heads were resurfaced and he wnt with a comp cam 305 if im not mistaken he said everything was comp some kind of package. Its a M6 he changed the clutch and the trans was rebuild also!! The cons no ac bad comp and the headlight motors arent working so they are manually rolled up and the windows are slow to roll up and down they are power windows!! So my main question is is the setup good or not it sounds good as hell with the cutouts open!! Any info helps thanks

Sounds good for a weekend driver, as a dailly driver might not be that cost effective.

so ur saying it would b expensive to use daily? Oh ya and the car hasnt been tuned yet?! Anyone know a good tuner near La Porte Texas or houston tx

What is the guy asking for the car if you don't mind?

The window and headlight problems you mentioned are all common problems with these cars and are not difficult to fix. The CC305 cam is a mild cam that will drive on the street very well (close to stock drivability), it is also a very common cam and a mail order tune from any good tuning company should put it about spot on. If its bored .030 over with the stock stroke that would make it a 355ci. Depending on what they want for the car and the overall condition, it could be a very good buy and a lot of fun

ya its nothng im trying hide about how much. I paid 3500 for the car he hasnt driven it very much due to him buying an 02 ws6. The motor has 4500 hundred miles which i thought was good and ya it got all new internals in the block and head. Any idea what kind of power to expect once it gets tuned?

94+ 6 speeds came with 3.42's

GM option code GU6 = 3.42

93 Fbody 6 speed got 3.23's

You can get it tuned at HPE in Houston, there are several more in the area as well
