Default 4150 t/b vs. 90* elbow with t/b

I see alot of guys going single plane with 4150 style t/bs. Is the flow that much better than using a 90-100mm elbow with a LS style t/b? Which single plane is used that has the injector holes and rails?

They flow a bit more and there is no radius for the air to travel its more direct. Most guys use the Victor EFI intake with edelbrock rails.
