You don't have to run LT4 covers, you can run the LT1s Corvette covers and dremel off the oil drip tabs. The only difference between LT1 and LT4 Vette covers are those drip tabs, I have had both side by side. With the LT4s GM no longer makes the driver side, you can use two p.s ones if you wanted.

Well the more I look at whats out there I'm liking having black valve covers...I may just pull my stockers and go play at the local powder coaters and see what they would look like in black chrome...Just a subtle change, and I may pull the intake and do the same...Although I do kinda like the fact that the car runs how it runs, but when you pop the hood it just looks like another slow, stock LT1 with headers and a CAI...

LOL, (wow, have not heard from you in a long time)

Your right; it does not run 12.60's, it's faster than that with bolt-ons

Sorry for hi-jacking the thread, back to the topic at hand

Bolt on LT1's dont run 12's[QUOTE] It depends on the amount of weight reduction. There are bolt-on LT1's in the 12's and there are bolt-on LS1's in the 11's, but the cars are nothing but shells and are not very enjoyable. As far as the valve covers go I have the Canton's and in order to get them to seal you need the double gasket made by Fel-Pro. I got mines from Thunder Racing.

We mentioned these on page 1. I have used 2 sets in the past, and have a third set on my car. I'd buy them again, no doubt.

A quick word about getting Cantons to seal: a can of spray adhesive is a good thing to have... a little on the edges around the tabs and you can stick the GM gaskets nicely in place on the covers so you don't have to fight with them getting them straight on the head. Set them in place and grab your inch pound torque wrench... or whatever.

That's what I did with mine, but the covers themselves just weren't straight. They literally rocked on the cylinder head.

Wow, that's pretty bad. I'm glad I got lucky with mine. They were a last minute impulse buy with inadequate research. Thanks to you guys unresearched purchases will no longer be made. Canton says they fab them on a cylinder head to make sure they're true. I got mine from Summit and they didn't pad them very well in the box. As soft as they are, I bet a lot of people get theirs bent in shipping, along with any workmanship issues.
