It depends on the amount of weight reduction. There are bolt-on LT1's in the 12's and there are bolt-on LS1's in the 11's, but the cars are nothing but shells and are not very enjoyable. As far as the valve covers go I have the Canton's and in order to get them to seal you need the double gasket made by Fel-Pro. I got mines from Thunder Racing.
Just FYI, this car is not a stripped out shell. Full weight 1996 WS6-6spd with working A/C all options and the car has a 6 point wolf cage with a the extra weight of a 12 bolt. Car is probably in the 3600lb +/- a little. So, 12.60's or faster is still a pretty good, more like a 12.40 ish car @ 110+

I really like the Cantons, but the height would screw up my DELTEQ setup sitting under the cowl. Canton's were my second choice after the LT4's.

I LOVE my Cantons...It is the first thing anybody that looks at my motor notices. Tons of compliments and I have never had leak problems with them (knock on wood)

Cantons suck, from day one mine leaked. So I bought a set of Billet Specialties flamed valve covers from summit racing. Sent them to madman and he notched one for the alt.
