Merv & 97LT1, This is exactly what I'm talking about! It The simple "Little" details that make the master piece and Just a recognition to 1badzee and Ramair95ta (if he still replies i feel some of those posts were kind of nasty but maybe its just my inexperience with American V8's that bothers him so much unlike the subaru and 240sx that im used to working on "they come apart like legos") But thank you, you both helped tremendously today! the motor should be out with a little bit of help tomorrow and I just wanted to say thanks for the help and also NOT DELETING THE TREAD! Its coming along nicely and I hope this thread can help some one with their removal i have many pictures and plan on making a tread with pictures socket sizes and tips, so if we can get it done right the first time I think it would benefit everyone!

Can anyone post a picture of where i need to "Crack My Brake Lines"? I bought a full kit of rubber garmets at the auto store to plug it off i just want to make sure there right and i disconnect at the right place, I can not afford to have the dealership reset my ABS computer, also can anyone tell me the dis advantages to deleting your A/C, I know in the summer it will be really hot but I usually have my windows down and I drive around fast, so no big issue(i'm planing on making this a weekend car) and anyone know where to get cheap 98+ rear tail lights, mine have sunspots and i like the honeycomb look. also suggestions on: motor oil, t-56 trans fluid, and diff. fluid< whats the best kind? Redline, Mobil 1 LS(75w-90 with 200 miles) (this is in it now), royal purple, Syncromesh...?! and spark plugs... im also doing a full tune up and at the end I am having it dynoed on a Mustang Dynometer and having it weighed for the most possibly accurate readings... you can see the dyno in my video on youtube, again thanks in advance!!!

Just remove the two lines that go down to the k-member (for the from two brakes). You may have to trace them to see where they lead. The other one or two is for the rear, and that doesn't have to be removed.

And as far as working on 240's and such being easier, I owned (2) 240sx's prior to buying my camaro. One had a KA and the other and sr20. Personally they were the most annoying things to work on. An LT1 is one thousand times easier and makes way more sense (but this is just personal preference lol).

@ my posts being nasty. Nyeahhh.

If you're even slightly mechanically inclined, the link I sent you has EVERYTHING you need to know. Being that you're removing an engine by yourself leads me to believe you are fairly competent and confident in what you're doing.

Sorry for helping.

Yeah that link Joe posted pretty much hit the nail on the head. It's a lot more helpful than us writing up paragraphs. Now, for specific questions, I can see how we can be a bit more useful than that link, but overall, it says everything you need to know.

So, is the engine out yet?

Nope, doesn't look right to me. (The pictures won't show up)

I got onto your album and looked at the pictures though, and I'm not sure what you're trying to show us? It's just pictures of different angles of the k-member.. There are 3 big bolts on each side..

Read that write-up in the link Joe posted.. You remove the brake lines from the ABS unit (that lead to the front calipers - the two thinner lines I believe). Should have been one of the first steps. You risk messing them up if the engine is hanging by the brake lines

Disconnect the two front brake lines from the ABS block using a flare/line wrench. Follow them up from the rack so you disconnect the right ones.

Húzza ki a sorok az ABS modult, nem pedig a kormánykerék állványra.
