Shaft in the Center? You sure that part didn't fall out of your Cam?

What year is the car?

Its either the Cam dowel or your replacement was for an early sealed style LT1 (92-94) which had a very small, short shaft in the center of the opti.

Can you post pics?? Photos would be VERY helpful in this situation, or you can email them to me at mleaf@zenithmotorsports.com and I can try to help you out that way.

Nah i didn't buy the wrong optispark. The stocked 1 didn't have that center piece with the shaft. I was trying 2 see if i can take the msd one off and put it on the stocked 1. But they said i couldn't do it. So i just bought me another msd optispark. ****** 500 dollars!! But **** it its better than paying 800 dollars for an optispark from the dealership just for that center piece i needed!!

Never go to the stealership for an optispark ever again. You can regularly get them for around $250 from 'thepartsladi' on eBay.

What year is your car??

If its a 92-94 LT1, then you need an opti that looks like what you sent me, with a toothed snout.

Like this..

If you have a 95-97, then you need one that uses a cam dowel to turn the opti... A little metal rod sticks out from the cam and keys into the square hole on the perimeter of the opti snout to turn it and index it properly and the snout itself is longer. Like this one.
