Hey:

Is that SSAUTOCHROME etched into the header primary, I thought Carl had that fixed? They look great on your car Kyle, they bring a final touch to already great looking car.

Thanks man! Yep, it says SSAUTOCHROME. The pics on the LPP site say LPP on them. Not sure what's up with that but it's definitely not a deal breaker or anything.

Does SSAutochrome manufacture anything in the states, or is everything outsourced to China?

Last I heard, he was having someone build the headers for him.

Hey:

SSAutochrome is here in NC and have had a lot of issues with customer service, but they offer parts at a low price, just not always the best parts.

They buy outsourced gear and sell it, its not all made overseas but a lot of the things they sell are, some of the exhaust parts are made in Stone MTN, Georgia, the same place LPPs are made, this was an issue with the first batch as well, thats why I asked.

I hope Carl gets a handle on this, but I guess it really doesn't matter as long as everyone is happy with them, and spread the word they got LPPs for headers. I had Carl send me some LPP badges last time and I cut off the SSA ones and welded the LPPs on, but etched in is a whole different game, no easy fix to that.

Hows the ground clearance? I've got pacesetter's and I'm lowered 1 1/4". The pacesetters tuck up nicely, but I have still scraped 2 or 3 times. So overall do you think they are worth it?

How long of O2 extensions did you end up using. My car is in storage right now and want to get al lthe parts ready fo spring. Also you using the supplied gaskets? What have you decided on for bolts?

Thanks for the insight

Pretty sure I used 2 12" O2 extensions on mine. Use a good 1" bolt - the longer the bolt, the better.

Felpro 1406s for gaskets.

Same here on the extensions. I re-used my Stage 8 header bolts, without the locks though. I believe they are about 1" long. I used the supplied gaskets. The openings in the 1406's I had were actually smaller than the openings in the supplied gaskets and I didn't feel like trimming the 1406's.

Ground clearance looks like it will be better than my Hookers with the Mufflex Y. Since the LPP's use a slip fit collector, they can sit closer to the undercarriage. Even when I had Eibach Pro-Kit springs, I never scraped the headers but the Mufflex Y had some scrapes from speed bumps and crap.

Overall, I think these headers are worth every penny. Hopefully the #8 primary will work itself off the frame once I get everything done and running. If not I'll have to bust out the BFH.

The BMR k-member has a poly mount on the passenger side. The driver side has a new OEM rubber mount.

May I ask why you did that?

The BMR k-member comes that way. I didn't have a poly mount for the driver side when I installed the engine. Something wrong with that?

Not at all, I was just curious if there was an advantage to it and thus the reason that you didn't do the same on each side.

Oh ok. No particular reason other than using the parts I had available. I'm curious if putting a poly mount on the driver side would help any?

With my Kooks headers, I didn't need an O2 extension on the driver's side. Considering that these are essentially a clone, it seems that would also be the case with these headers. Or are you guys referring to the rear O2 sensors?

I haven't installed the O2's yet. I was just stating that I have 2 12" extensions to use if needed. I may need to use one for my wideband.

Hey Guys
Yes we do use the same manufacture that SSauto uses that's located in GA.
And once again a big screw up on our manufactures part
The last run had the SSauto badges on them now this run has SSauto stenciled on them
The good thing is you can easily just take a buffing wheel and buff off the SSautochrome
Believe me I was livid when I saw this.
But rest assured these are our LPP headers made to our re-design. Like the pictures show we did move the number 1 primary over to allow more clearance for the steering shaft.
we also relocated the number 8 primary so not sure why it's still a problem.
We also relocated two other primaries that were close to the K-member.
But like we've said every car is different
