Default Whoa! That woulda sucked...

So I did the TB bypass about 5 years ago, and everything went off without a hitch driving it for about 30k miles. I decide to put in an Ewp and do a round of mods while the car is just sitting - which was much needed btw. I finally get the car started and running again, terrorizing the neighbors, making little children cry with open headers, and all-in-all having a good time. Then I notice a small leak under the car, which turns into a little larger leak!

I have redone every hose and gasket on the front of this engine and I just can't figure out WTH I missed that could possibly be leaking??? Well I look around for awhile, found some coolant puddling on the front of the intake manifold and figure I have a coolant hose leaking. Ugh. I replaced all of these with $200 silicon hose kit from Samco which freakin one is busted now!?

It turns out that my TB bypass mod doesn't like the extra coolant pressure on idle and that the old caps I used are now torn up. I guess my point is keep up with the mods that you've done in the past b/c they can screw up.

It prolly woulda cost me my new opti, fresh coolant, and alot of cleanup time. Thank God I caught it in time.

I just fixed a leak from the bypass as well... everything in my engine had been sprayed down including the opti. I must have been lucky though, because everything was fine after.

Man, talk about being lucky...

I changed my WP that was leaking like crazy from the little crank the other day.

That was so scary pulling it off and watching a bitchload of coolant cover my opti, not to mention when I looked at the backside of the WP you could tell it had been leaking for a long time directly on top of the opti which was stained brown to hell from it.

Stock opti FTMFW!

With the save!

I plan on doing an EWP swap and am considering swapping out my opti since I believe its stock at ~106k but I still have the side of me thats like if it ain't broke don't fix it. The other side says you might as well do it while you are doing the EWP
