Possible tranny/clutch problem
Possible tranny/clutch problem Ok I was wondering if this was normal. I have a 95 T/A m6 with less than 57k miles. I'm not sure if its still on the original clutch,throw out bearing,slave cylinder and all other related parts. When I come to a stop in traffic or at a stop light or stop sign and I try to put into 1st gear it will NOT go. So I have to release the clutch and press it in again then it goes right in. Also when I am on the interstate cruising at 70-80 mpg I get a whining sound in a rhythmic sound...I am not sure how to describe it. And I get a considerable amount of vibration through my gear shifter. Also at idle I get a good amount of vibration enough to vibrate my passenger seat so you can visisbly see the head rest moving back and forth....Any help will be appreciated
yeah it sounds like it is coming from directly under and between the 2 front seats. and yes at idle it is coming from the tranny area. me gear shifter vibrates a little bit rougher than i think it should

Yeah that sounds like 1st gear syncro. nothing you can really do, just deal with it - it doesnt really justify a tranny rebuild in itself.
and the whining sound is most likely driveshaft IMO. no big deal either.
