well i had to share. i just ordered the wiring harness from eficonnections going with the coil packs and ls1 pcm on my build im real excited i had to share. i have the coil packs already got the timing cover i needed will just have to order a pcm and the reluctors and anything else to go with it. figured id order the harness now so it'd leave time for them to put it together.

If you got ahold of the PCM and the Harness I'm sure that you could probably build the setup..then just buy the Timing Cover and Reluctors.

I just looked at the price for these alittle more than what I expected. But I understand the possiblilties it opens up. Could you do the same thing if you found a donor car and just ripped everything off it or are the harness connectors different for some sensors? Just tring to educate myself alittle Thanks

You can, you would just have to get a PCM Pin Diagram, that way you know every wire, and know what you can remove. I recommend using a 1999-02 LS1 F-body Harness & PCM.

Awesome shouldnt be to hard as I completly depinned my harness to strip it down to bare essentials then repinned it. I will just have to find a site like Shbox that gives all the pin outs.

I use to hate wires to but I had to learn to love them working on Aircraft. On Aircraft they only use a single color for everything white could you imagine tring to trace a wiring prob.

How about when one wire pops out of the cannon plug and won't re-seat? Oh yeah pull 120 wires and stick them all in the proper spot on the new plug!
F'ing smurfbitchin F/A-18's!!!!!! I'm lucky, I got out of the Navy and haven't had to do any of that in 4 years now.

I respectfully disagree The best route would be to START with a 96-97 LT1 harness and then buy the new PCM connectors from EFI connection and pin it out at the PCM. Then use the 99-02 LS1 PCM.

It's easier to pin out the PCM connectors and use the 96-97 harness than to modify alot of the connectors/wire lengths on an existing 99-02 wiring harness.

Just my opinion though

Jason

OP, welcome to the club, I spent the money for the whole shooting match (01 LSx pcm, custom harness, billet timing cover, 24x reluctor for dr timing set, LS2 coils). Because I have heard that the 15 year old factory harnesses are usually very brittle and the last damn thing I wanted to have to do is try and track down any electrical gremlins. I paid the cost to have peace of mind.

exactly wat my dad told me. mess up one wire and you might as well start over. unless you know which one it is plus a nice new clean harness will go well with the clean motor and all
