This is a comon problem. I've seen people fix it by takeing it all apart (you are supposed to have a couple special tools but if you get creative you can do it) and then covering the pins with jb quick, set it where you want it then let it cure. Then finish putting it together. I actualy worked to my supprise. You don't have tilt anymore thoe. Now its not impossible, but if your not that good with cars pay someone to fix it. If you decide to go with a new column you have to swap out your ignition switch. It has a rod attached to it, thus causeing your starting issue. Good luck

Also there is a good step by step online. Can't rember where just google f-body steering column fix or steering column pin replacement. And if you drive that be careful. And it doesn't look like you have to worrie about the air bag lol

thank you that answered my question perfectly. I have the service manual for the 93 and I have found a write up on taking it apart I just wasn't sure what was causing the issue to fix it. I guess now I need to look for someone parting out a car or one for sale online and see how hard it is to take it completely out and replace all the needed parts. thanks again

Prob replaceing the whole thing is best. Less technical, and your old one looks pretty beat. Call camaro heaven in tilton NH they have a bunch of lt1 stuff . And they are a real business. And ship stuff all the time
