Default How do I remove this?

PCV baffle inside passenger-side valve cover. As it is now, it won't clear my 1.6rr's.

Before anybody says it, I understand the purpose of the baffle and I have an external baffle that will prevent oil from being sucked into the TB.

Is that your valve cover? If it is, it's not the baffle that is in the way. Part of the "L" shaped brace is what's in the way. You can either do this to both sides:

Or take a pair of vice grips and bend the horizontal part of the "L" in the brace to where it is completely vertical.
The stock baffle sucks *** so go ahead and run the external baffle as well.
Also, absolutely no reason to run that much sillycone on the valvecover with rubber valve cover gaskets.

I was able to look underneath, and the baffle was definitely hitting the rockers.

what rockers are you using, i have 1.6 rr scorpions on my car with stock valve covers and not a single modification was needed.... As far as removing i had no ideo, maybe dremel the bottom off with a cutting wheel, hard in such a tight area though...

Never read of anyone having to remove the baffle for rocker clearance. Just do what I posted and see what happens. May be a stupid question, but is the valve cover on right? The baffle should be on the back side of the engine.

What rockers are you using? My valve covers only needed to be cut like SS RRR pic with Comp Ultra Pro Mag 1.6 SA rockers. That goes the same for three other rocker brands that I have seen/installed on other cars.

I have Comp hi-tech 1.6rr's. I could've sworn that the baffle was hitting, but I bent the braces a bit and I was able to get the valve cover on just fine...I won't know for sure if contact is still being made until I fire this thing up.

No. Don't do it that way. Put the valve covers on with no bolts. Turn engine over by hand with a 5/8" socket on the crank bolt. See if valve covers move.

Ah, that makes much more sense. I'll be sure to do that.

Just my $0.002 worth....

I ran the GMPP aluminum rockers, but only the 1.5:1 ratio. Stock rocker covers, no clearance issues at all.
