starter fluid safe on lt1?

is it safe to spray a little starter fluid thru the TB into the intake? i was just wondering if there was any sensors i could mess up or something like that.

reason im doing it is because takes more cranks then normal to start it and i think its fuel pump related (it sounds odd almost weak when priming) and i cant find my fuel presure gauge anywhere. im sure it'll turn up tho.
i already know starter fluid is more combustable than gas so not to get confused with weak spark fairly certian my spark is good.

Sounds like another fuel pump check valve problem. I'd just let it crank rather than spraying starter fluid in there, might be dangerous.

it always starts just takes takes more cranks then normal and is driving me crazy, makes it sound like a piece of junk hah. what do you mean sounds like another fuel pump check valve problem?

does it when warm or cold extra prime does nothing for it either

I did it when we started my race motor....

B-12 chemtool right into the accufab TB... didn't hurt ****...

check the fuel pump relay.....IIRC there is a bypass setup that when the relay goes out you crank it until the pcm sees oil pressure then it fires. Until then, there isn't any fuel being shot by the injectors, then the oil pressure climbs and it fires the injectors. I'd check that first then you can go from there. BTW your fuel pressure port will be on your fuel rail, up by the intake manifold.
