Default Wideband placement question..

I'm planning on throwing a wideband on the car to do some more tweaking, but I'm making it a permanent stay. Where should I weld the bung? I am running a 3" x-pipe setup (dumped before the axle). Is a single wideband accurate enough on an x-pipe setup? Who has this done to their car? Thanks..

Run it in the header collector or as close as you can to it. Mine is just opposite of my narrowband

I can't dual the wideband (wallet doesn't permit) and I want a mixed reading, not just from one bank..

I can't compensate for a whole other 4 cylinders based on what one bank is reading.. One side could be completely different than the other. Idk, that's what my tuner told me

Maybe ill just go duals lol. that would be pretty sweet. Or I could be a badass and run one for each primary.

IF your using a wideband you need to put it in the y pipe as far away as possible to catch both banks. It will b the best way to do it and the cleanest.

I would put it in the collector as stated above. Widebands are sensitive to heat and you need the sensor to warm up to get the correct readings. Make sure its at the 3 or 9 o'clock position so it doenst get moisture accumulating on it.

FWIW, my LC1 is in my passanger collector on my duals.

I appreciate everyone's input. I guess I will be putting it in the collector. I wish I could justify the cost for a dual wideband setup from FAST. Cheapest I found it is like $410 shipped, but it doesn't justify itself for me quite yet..

Then again I COULD get dual LC1's (without the gauges). It would be like $320 bucks shipped. I would just have to connect them to a laptop for feedback

My wideband O2 is located in my passenger-side y-pipe, just after the collector.

WB goes close to the collector. And if you leave it there permanently, dont expect it to last an extensive amount of time.

You could always have an extra bung welded in each collector, then that way you could still tune with it, and then just run it in one side for daily use. That's what I'll probably end up doing with my LC1.

Quick question, Will a Bosch Wideband screw right into the stock O2 sensor bung? Or are the threads different?

Yeah the wideband uses the same threading.

I'm not quite understanding this. You are telling us that the wideband sensor goes close to the collector, but will not last very long right there. If it won't last long, then why is it supposed to be in the collector?
