You will need new valve springs, and a lower (numerically higher) rear gear ratio would compliment the cam, but not totally necessary.

There's a lot involved in a cam swap, keep doing your research so you know what your in for and make sure you have all the parts you need. (valve springs / hardware, rockers, pushrods, guideplates, gaskets, timing set, etc etc).

You should take a good look at it because it will answer alot or even all of your questions. The sticky was made to prevent the insane amounts of threads on "what cam should I get" that always seem to surface around here. Nobody can tell you what cam is best for you without knowing exactly what you want (ie torque monster? strong mid-range? strong top-end? combination of two? daily driver? weekend warrior? emissions a concern? Willing to put gears in the car? How high are you willing to spin the motor to? etc. etc.) Once you figure out exactly what your looking for in a cam, chances you will find one or two in the guide that will suit you well. There is always the option to go with a custom grind of course. And yes you will need rockers, valve springs, shims, locks, retainers, gaskets, pushrods, valve stem seals, timing chain, tune, etc., figure about a grand in parts.

that 6 speed will make up for a stall so no need to worry there.
you need to get atleast the beehive springs and retainer kit.
hardened pushrods that you measure to fit.
i didnt see roller rockers mentioned but that would be a good investment for this cam. you can get a set of steel full roller rockers off ebay for around 135 i think. my friend hass been running them for 30k mmiles and they are still like new so if money is short ide get them. and dont forget about a new timing chaiin. you can just replace the chain for around 30 dollars or if you have an electric waterpump you can get a full roller timing chain for around $70
