Default Cam Opinions

well, I wasn't going to do this but since it snowed almost a damn foot of snow today I decided to finish tearing into my engine and swap in a new cam. I was thinking about the cc305 114lsa Because of the 4.10 Gearing and Nitrous I have on the way...my wallet is going to take a hit and Im going to be kicking myself in the ballz all damn winter paying it off. Heads are off for a Gasket Match and P&P right now. Yeah I was bored the past couple days and begin tearing into my motor

With a tune 370-380whp a rough ball park here?(W/o Nitrous) Also going to be dropping in Thinner Head Gasket.

EDIT: Had LT4 Hot Cam before....I think they suck

EDIT2: And no Girlfriend this year with a shared bank account that can put a stop on my parts orders...Dumb !@#$!#@$ It was mostly my cash any ways. She only worked twice a week.....*sigh* OK Done bitching now

EDIT3: I meant the cc503, I was reading up on the other cam and typing at the same time

I was going to do the P&P myself, but a reputable shop with a Flow Tester offered me one hell of a deal so I am going to go in and talk to them Monday.

The 503 ain bad. You could find a slightly more aggressive lobe that would retain all the street manners of the 503 and get you some more usable lift. Not to mention increasing DCR which has a bigger impact thatn most think.

PM me if you want help choosing a cam matched to your setup. I'm not claiming to be an expert but we've been specing a few of them out and they work well.

The cc503 is an excellent off-the-shelf cam. Glad you meant that and not the cc305 because the cc305 is going to be just like the hot cam you previously had lol. Anyways, with a good quality port job on the heads I could see around 370rwhp with that cam, seems like your on the right track. As always I'll throw the custom grind option out there as well, for a few extra bucks you can really tailor the cam to your personal needs and pick up some power.

With your goals i really think a custom grind would be right for you. Its going to cost more money but i really think it will be worth it when you finally dyno the car.

cc503 is a pretty good choice for an off the shelf grind. Old technology tho IMO

With the stall converter unlocked 362rwhp/390rwtq. Locked another 20rwhp above that. Hard to compare to a manual really.
