Default opti harness..

Ok, Ive been having a problem with my cars optispark harness.. My old was was wore out, the prong/pins inside the long pigtail that went into the opti were all all flat and wore out. So I bought me a new one, and I had to pull it out one day and the damn clip that holds it on opti borke! So some days it wants to break up real bad on the big end and like last night, it just died..
"ok, its the harness, it backed out"
I pull over and try to push it back in and NOTHING..
I finally pulled the rubber boot around top of clip off and pushed it into the opti and it started..lol, My guess is the rubber boot is pushing it out since there isnt a clip to hold it in place...

One of my question is, Can I put elec. grease on the end or is that a big NO NO on the opti??

Thanks
Kris

grease will make the thing want to slip out. It will take up space in the female end of the harness and push back due to the displacement. I suggest a new harness since the one you have is broke.

Or you can just replace the Connector with your old one..unpin the wires and switch it over.

Yes and No.. the old one had bad prongs AND the clip was "wore" out.. it was curved back..

Where did you get the new one? I recommend www.lsxtune.com They are a sponsor, they have the new harness, or just the connector, seeing as yours if fairly new so you could probably just pin in the new harness.

Now that I think about it mine was broken too..I took the Rubber Grommet off and wrapped it in Electrical take and got it to snug itself in there..never had a problem.

It's kinda like the green one for the MAP Sensor..I've never seen one of them that wasn't broken..lol
