Newbie LT1 cam question

Newbie LT1 cam question Ok, extreme newbie question here. My boyfriend is going to be helping me pull my engine next weekend, and I want to move up to a larger cam. When I upgrade my cam, what else needs to be upgraded at the same time? Will I need to change lifters, pushrods, anything like that? Never done this before!

Push rods, valve springs, valve seals while your there, retainers are a good idea as well.
How many miles are on the lifters? If it was me and the motor had more than 50K on it, I would save up and buy new lifters while I had it apart.
Much easier to do on that LT1 while its OUT of the car.

Not sure how many miles are on the lifters, the kid I bought it off of put aftermarket lifters in about 2 years before I bought it. I don't think he drove the car much, and I only drive the car for a few months out of the year in the summer.
