I have heard of several stories of people drilling out ls1 rockers to 3/8 and using them on an lt1, if you have or no someone who has done this, who did they have drill them?

There was a thread a while back on that forum and the pics the guy posted looked like a train wreck. It was done very poorly, with no attention to detail.

What makes you think it's a good idea? You'd be removing material from one of the most stressed points of your valvetrain. Not worth the risk IMO.

I drilled a set and mocked them up after reading about others doing it. The geometry just didn't line up enough to be comfortable and no pushrod change would have fixed it. Drilling them was difficult to say the least. I basically got the LS rockers for nothing so it didn't bother me to take a chance and see how close they would be. I'll see if I can find my pics of the alignment.

If you read that thread, you'll find out at the end that one of the retainers broke, and due to the awkward placement of the (non-roller) tip, a full 1.7 ratio wasn't being achieved.

That alignment looks terrible. Bad idea altogether.

That pic is my motor from when I mocked them up. Never felt good enough about the alignment to even start it up so I pulled them off and bought some 1.7 Scorpions. They (ls rockers) are sitting on the shelf in my garage, if anyone wants to pay shipping they can have them.

after seeing pics, I really DON'T like the geometry, I am not going to try this. I had only heard of it being done, and never seeing it. It wasn't about destroying a rocker just to make it usuable on a diff. engine. It was about the possibility of trying to get my aunts car on the road, cheaper, with a little more lift, on a small cam, thats all.
