Default Another exhaust ?

I want something similar to the stock tone maybe a tad louder. I want something that sounds good at idle then semi loud at WoT. Make sense? lol Take the stock exhaust, It sounds decent at idle and good WoT but I have been told it's restrictive. Would headers and a HiFlo Cat be worth putting on stock pipes? Any recommended cat backs would be appreciated

As far as cat-backs go, this is what i hear from most people:

Magnaflow is very free flowing and has a nice sound while being quiet, but louder than stock

Hooker is also very free flowing but a little louder and lower sound than magnaflow.

Flowmaster has a great rumble to it but it's restrictive, some call it "Slowmaster".

Borla is expensive and has a very fine-tuned sound, quiet at idle and loud at WOT.

Corsa is also big bucks and some think it's too raspy.

Get a cat-back before you get headers. Magnaflow is probably the best brand for you. I'd recommend spending some quality time listening to some different exhaust sound clips on YouTube to see what you like. If your car doesn't have to pass an emissions inspection in your area than you can "gut" the cat or get a high-flow one. It will only add a few hp.

Yea Magnaflow is probably where I'm leaning. And I have listened to about every LT1 exhaust clip on youtube but you know it never really sounds the same in person. If I was replacing the headers and cat is it worth spending the money on the cat back or would the stock pipes be enough and just replace muffler? They are 2.75" right? Because all the mufflers I see are 2.5 or 3" inlet

doing headers you will wont be using stock pipes esp if u go full cat back bc with LTs it moves everything back. Youll get more power and better sound from mandrel pipes. id go pacesetter ceramic coated, hiflo or no cats( no cats will make it louder than hiflow) and a cat back pipe (called that weither you have a cat or not) magnaflow sounds good for you, with a magnaflow high flow cat all in 3 in pipe will be easyer. be a good sound and give you nice power boost.

I'd say Hooker's Aerochamber Muffler.

Its hardly noticeable at idle, but screams pretty good at WOT.

I had it and loved it.

another vote for Borla. I have a electric plate in mine so i can "tune" the sound. I keep it closed till i get out of my neighbor hood and I am 100% open most of the time. sounds great (closed and open) and the muffler / tips are very nice quality.

My vote is for GMMG with a Catted Y pipe, good muscle sound at idle but not too loud, cruising on the highway at 70mph it gives a good tone to it but yet quiet enough to have a conversation in the car. When you go WOT it turns into a beast like no other.

I love the way my corsa sounds quite at idle but pretty loud at WOT I bought it a couple years ago when it was't so expensive $750 shipped. now I think they are $900 bucks but the exhaust tips are awsome! worth the money.
