70 Z28 with lt1
GM Performance Parts sells a dual plane carb intake manifold for the LT1. Aside from that all you really need is a carb and distributor, and probably a fuel pressure regulator.

An LT1 is VERY much the same as a gen 1 motor BUT the reverse flow cooling limits head selection which limits intake selection. Yes you can convert stuff but the cost of conversion makes it not such a good deal when you could start with a gen 1 for cheap and not deal with conversion.
One of you said gen 1 main bolts wont fit a LT1, how do you figure?
The dual plane LT1 intake is more than twice as expensive as an Edelbrock Performer rpm intake for a Gen 1 motor which has the same 1500-6500rpm rating and the GMPP intake is made by Edelbrock so I think it safe to say they are similar.
That crossed my mind before I posted the first time BUT the fact he said it currently has injection leads me to believe he has an LT1 as opposed to the LT-1
The software to tune a 94-5LT1 is under $100 and the swap from the 97pcm to the 94-5 is really really easy, same wiring.
So it will cost MORE to convert to a carb than to tune the pcm.
I have a 96 and am running a 95pcm, have been for like 8 years now. You either change the knock sensors, solder a $.40 resistor inside the pcm or shut off the CEL for improper knock sensor resistance.
