Hey guys my tune is needing some work and rather than pay 450 for the jet tuner. I was thinking of changing over to ob1. There is a buick roadmaster in the junk yard with a lt1. Its a 94 so it will have to ob1 computer in it. My brother has tuner cat and has a open tune. So the question is what else to I need to do a ob1 conversion.

The OBDI computer, obviously. Part number is 16188051. The Roadmaster should be the same part number with a different tune.
You already have Tunercat, so all you need is the datalogging stuff.
VEMaster is freeware and will aid in tuning the VE tables.
Datamaster is a data logging application and lists for $125, but you can pick it up for $95. If your brother has that also, then all you'll need is a cable. You'll need an OBDI cable with an OBDII connector, which is the same as the 95 models use.
A wideband is pretty much a requirement for all good tuning. There are many to choose from, but you want one that outputs an analog signal so you can input it to your datalogging application.

Alright sounds good. My brother also has the ob2 cable since his car is a 95 but was made in 08/95. Just making sure I can tune the auto pcm to make it a manual pcm.

You'll want to find a tune for a M6 to start off. The PCM hardware is the same, but obviously the s/w will be different.

You don't need a knock sensor or resistor. Simply shut off DTC # 43. Proven over and over to work just fine. Knock sensor will function normally. The Caprice PCM will be just fine, just load a '94 or '95 M6 calibration. That sight mentioned has some good hints, but also some incorrect information.
Good luck, Ed

Yeah that does not matter in the nice state of South Carolina. Ill keep the ob2 pcm around in case I move. Ill have to install cats, some back o2s,and egr. But for now I should be good.
