I only get about 16 to 17 myself highway or not and that is with a full tune up. But the last owner I think had a cam put in. Don't know witch one would go in a stock 94 lt1 a4. Would this make a differance on mpg?

im on the same situation i work like 2 miles from home and the car barely warms up uses lots of fuel on that short trip but when going to college around 15 miles away i dont spend nearly as much i get like 19-20 mpg not bad for a pushrod from the early 90's get new plugs and wires or try some lucas tune up in a bottle it works great!

I get like 6mpg with mine. I have a heavy foot though and drive like a dick. Plus, tune is some ways off. I'm sure with a better tune and a tune-up i could achieve 10mpg retaining my driving habits.

I averaged 20 to/from the T/A nats last summer which was ~ 500 mi round trip highway. I normally get ~ 15-17 average to a tank just driving around so 17 isn't bad.

If all of your mods are listed, 17 mpg for strictly city driving isn't bad, imo. 19 on the highway isn't so great, and would lead me to believe that something is wrong. When I lived in Atlanta, I probably got around 13-15 in the city, but I still got 26+ on the highway. My car also tended to run pretty rich, and went through a few cats.

Hey, my 1995 M6 is my daily econo car, but then again, I'm not complaining, I love it.

I want to start by saying that I'm not complaining. I just thought that it would be higher than that. And I know that decreased mileage is a good way to tell if something may be possibly wrong. I will do a good tune-up and see if that helps. I think the car runs good though. And it pulls strong...for a stock LT1.
