Why is there a battery in the center console?

Lol, that is not a battery, that is a spare pcm. I can see how it looks like a battery though.

I've ripped thru a couple fbody interiors before, including my own. I think doing the interior is tons of fun, and it's really easy too. You really feel like you've accomplished a lot when you step back and look at an interior after you've redone the whole thing...it seems like a lot of work-but keep on truckin man, it's worth it in the end!

My buddy's '94 Trans am had the stock leather seats( rock hard, ripped, and worn), moldy and stained carpet, a broken center console...ect.

We parted out the interiors of a '94 Camaro and a '98 Bird, both cars had less than 60k miles on them...we got some cloth seats in great condition, a less abused carpet(which we washed and shampooed out of the car at the car wash)...and interior panels and a center console, ect. We spent about 4 hours replacing his entire interior minus the dash, and when we where done it was like a new car inside! well worth the time and effort we put into it...very rewarding...it's like a new car!

keep yur head up! it can only get better from where yur at now!

The seats can be saved As for the door panels, he is not sure. I did install the new speakers and head unit today. It is nice hearing something coming from the car. I will take more pictures tommorrow after i organize all the motor crap. I should finally get the motor and tranny apart and on a stand. Thank you all for the kind words.

I disassembled the motor this evening. It was really about to let go, the bearings were grooved to hell. I am just about done taking stuff apart. Almost time for the fun part.... putting all the new stuff back together

Good luck! Great to see an LT1 car getting restored.

I strongly feel you should keep the LT1 front end. It looks better than the LS1 catfish and you should be proud to have a clean LT1 car. They are getting harder and harder to spot these days. Most I see are ragged out and look thoroughly neglected (about how yours was upon arrival I would think).

That is an understatement, lol. It was in horrible shape. When i sold the car, it made just under 400rwhp. It may have made 100rwhp when i bought it back. I guess it could be worse .

Do any of you know if the drivers side harness unplugs at the firewall and is able to be removed like the passenger side harness? I am getting the car ready for paint and I want to removed all that i can. Thanks in advance.

Default Update??

Update... kind of lol. After tearing the car apart I decided to do an ls1 swap. While looking for an ls1 motor and ecm i stumbled across a complete car with a suspected spun bearing. Once i got the car home, it turned out the car was not as bad off as i expected so I decided to build the ls1 car first. It is a 98 ls1 a4. I have been working on it for 2 months or so. Here are the pics of it's transformation. It should be painted by tomorrow night.

I will post pics of the car the day i brought it home soon. I have all ready redone the entire interior. I guess I can consider this a warm up for the lt1 car, lol.
