You can get 12's with bolt-ons, no need for a cam. Do a search for The Grape Of Wrath Z28. GM High Tech Performance took a 94 Z28 auto from 13.88 stock to a 13.16 quarter mile with bolt-ons only, and that was without any programming to support the mods. Biggest gain they got was with rear suspension mods.

if you wanna avoid spray, just do full bolt ons including headerback exhaust with longtubes and cutouts, and full bolt ons and a mail order tune. If that doesn't get you there, start doing suspension mods.

To better answer your questions.

No, most of us do NOT like the LT4 hotcam kit.

It does provide a good gain over stock, but for the money you can do much better. The hotcam is built on LAZY lobes and old technology.

and as for the nitrous question. They like it just fine on the stock bottom end. RPM's will hurt the stock bottom end more than nitrous (rod bolts stretch). 150 shot done properly is fine. Mine's getting turned up to a 175 on pump gas soon, but I'm at high altitude.
