It's not 1970...nitrous has been used safely on thousands of LT1 cars without any issues, nitrous has come a LONG way...RPM's kills motors, not HP. With a correct setup, there's no reason an internally stock LT1 powered car couldnt run up to a 150hp shot safely...
the general rule of thumb is on a stock motor you can run 50%ish the factory HP rating...

IMO nitrous is just a waste of money, sure you're fast, but only when your bottle's full and you're ready to use it. OP, I'd suggest going FI if you haven't done heads and cam yet, and want to invest those kind of funds in your car.
the lt1 has no game its straight srs bizzzznazzz kid .
on that note ,dont do 1.6 rockers on stock springs , start with the obv bottlenecks get a c.a.i - full or cat back exh, other free mods ,get a custom chip burned or step up to a 94 system " IT AINT TO BAD TO DO " and of corse nitrous i ran my stock lt1 on a 150 shot and no problems till i sprayed when i had no traction and hurt it
