Well don't listen to him all those multiple electrode plugs are crap. Get a set of NGK tr5s and you're good that's what most people on here run with no problems.

PS I'm guessing your friend saw those plugs being dynoed on that episode of Horsepower that E3 was the sponsor of

I spoke to my engine builder about them and he said the big advantage of the E3's is they will far outlast other plugs because of the 3 electrodes.

I have posted this a few times this week and I'll post it again. DO NOT GET E3's!!!!! I put a set in a buddies truck 2 weeks ago and thier quality is for ****. 3 were cracked out of the box (no damage to the box) and one quit in the motor after 20 miles (not fouled - just stopped firing). It's up to you but after that experience I will never put a set in one of my vehicles.

Gimmick plugs are...well...gimmicks. Current plugs last plenty long. If the E3s last a super long time, well that is for people that never do maintenance on their cars. Anyone that cares for their car and does their own work is going to check the plugs in a more timely manner.

The center electrode is often worn down from normal operation and there is only one of them. So, you are going to end up with the same excess gap after a long period of time just as current plugs do. Plus, with all that extra metal shrouding the center electrode, I would wonder about diminished flame travel.

E3s suck, just get to any of your local auto parts stores that carries them... Advance auto has them in stock.... have a counterman show you a set and that will make you decide in favor of NGKs or ACDelcos..... just go and look at the E3s, you'll see that the casting of their design looks failed on the top part of the electrode.

NGK TR55's seem to run great!

Heard great reviews about them, I have had no problems.

Don't look for hp gains with sparkplugs...

I remember someone asking me about "high horsepower" spark plugs one time.... I told him to go and buy some for a turbo diesel application, since those can put out compression ratios over 25:1 .. .. he went to Autozone... and i never saw him again. LMAO... The sad part is that i'm betting autozone actually looked them up. They probably sent him across the street to O'reillys

Hey don't know how they'd work on the LT1 motor but I just put some Autolite Irridium(Fine or Thin Wire) plugs on my wifes 02 suburban with 100K on the clock and they work very well and I can deff feel a difference in the throttle response and idle. Just thought I'd toss that out there as the quality on the plugs looked really good.

Default Plugs

Nothing better than a good set of AC Delco's. I have never seen any real confirmation that a spark plug can make horsepower; however, old and degraded plugs will cost you horsepower. Autolite's aren't to bad either. Stick with what works. These fancy high dollar plugs are nothing more than snake oil. My 2cents.
