Ok guys so i finally got back in the car game. Having owned a 2000 SS before this is my first LT1 car. I know alot of things are different on the 93 like the opti and the fact that it is a speed density car. My question is if I replace the opti can I go with a newer vented style instead of the nonvented factory style? Can I convert to a newer style computer sya from a 94-97 so i can tune without burning chips? I'm sure these are basic LT1 questions but having been a LS guy I'm lost here. Thanks for the help.

To convert to the vented, the cams are different iirc, if you want to change the computer if you have an M6 its alot easier to do since you wont need to change the wiring in the transmission or just use a 4l60e trans.

You can buy the MSD cap and rotor kit,and make your opti vented..part #8481..

PM me if you want to convert to a 94 PCM. I have all of the information you probably need for the swap.

As for the opti, your best bet is getting the MSD cap+rotor which is a vented cap.

Out of curiosity did you keep it speed density or switch over to a MAF??? I've been contemplating the PCM swap and just putting a SD tune in it so I can keep the original harness (for the most part). If you want to respond by PM feel free.....(sorry for the Hijack)

Thanks for the help! It is a M6. so it should be easier then for the swap. I'll pm you when i get ready. Now if I can just figure out why the secondary cooling fan isn't working.
