Default do i need this stuff ??

I m about to build the motor and was looking into pacesetter headers and they seem not to hav O2s Do i need o2s ??? I not worried about emissions but i know they do many other things. I will be dyno tuning and so if i dont need them can they be deleted? Also EGR i know can be deleted do i have to delete that ? I am getting rid of ac and windshield fluid tank Anything else i can remove in my process ?

thanks in advanced
Reggie

You need the front o2's. Not sure what year your car is but IIRC 96' and newer have rear o2's to that CAN be deleted, just have to tune them out. EGR can also be deleted and tuned out.

I don't see how that is possible....O2 sensors monitor unburned oxygen in the exhaust as the exhaust exits the engine. It's a way of gauging the air/fuel mixture. It tells the computer if you're engine is running rich or lean. With or without a dyno tune, the problems you can run into by not using an O2 sensor or sensors are driveability problems, increased fuel consumption. Maybe i'm wrong? I have been before!

It's called an open loop tune, and entirely possible and actually quite common.

No no no no...you need O2s with a typical tune.

No no no no...you need O2s to retain typical PCM function. Running an open loop tune is much more involved than what you need to be getting into and is just unnecessary.

They have o2 Bungs, you have to buy the o2's sensors, you also need o2 extensions because the o2 sensors are set a little further back on LT's.

i understand that but will running o2s without cats effect anything on stock tune ? i know it may run rich on stock tune

here is a link from summit but check around they are cheaper on other sites, get coated if you can. these have all emissions stuff. most of the Pacesetter LTs that i have seen seem to run a little bit more in price with the emissions

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PSM-70-2235/

youll need flat o2 extensions as well

The pre-cat O2s are before the cats (obviously) and won't affect the stock tune.
