Default Vortec Elbow problem

So anyone running the vortec elbow with a cai? I was comparing to the stock elbow today and noticed they are the exact same size which is the problem. On the stock elbow the MAF slips inside it, as the vortec has a rubber piece that slides over the elbow and the maf which moves the Maf like half inch towards the drivers side. I know that doesn't sound like much, but its enough now where my lingenfelter cai wont fit properly. I think im gonna have to cut a half inch off the elbow to make it work out. It's not a big deal but doesn't really make sense to me.

It's just a rubber coupling that holds the MAF and the elbow together, that's how it is designed to work. Keep going its all supposed to be that way.

what do you mean keep going? i know its a rubber coupling, but it pushes the maf over enough to the point the intake if to far over to fit.

Cut the elbow. Their all made longer to account for the fact that 93's were speed density and didn't have a MAF.
