Look at the bolt-ons sticky at the top of the LT1-LT4 Forum for mods...

For your stock times, it varies according to altitude...where are you located?

It'll probably run mid to low 14s depending on the condition of the drive train. Start with the basic mods cold air intake, headers, exhaust and good stall, and a good tune then move on to the suspension stuff

RPO codes are on the driver door. Pull them and decode the car then post what rear gear and someone can tell you almost down to the tenth. Mods? how many miles? what kind of power do you want to make? cold air intake for starters, Stall, headers, all the bolt ons.

the car has 131k miles. i'm thinkn hard bout rebuilding it/ but i was also told i'd be better off droppin a ls1 in it. my trans guy said it should have like a 3.55 gear. i'm just lookin to run like low 11s high 10s in the 1/4. alot of the guys we run on the streets run vetts, ls cars, mustangs ect.

It'll will be a lot easier/cheaper to rebuild your motor then it would be to put in an ls1. Most autos either came with a 2.73 or 3.23 rear end 6-speeds came with 3.42

If it is stock gears more like 3.23's or 3.42's...I doubt 3.55's...

With 131K its up to you but I suggest starting over...do a 355 rebuild and go up from there...better safe than doing cam, etc and spinning a bearing or something fun like that!

no 3.55 maybe 3.23 or 2.73 depends on RPO code

Dont go LS1...we LT1 guys are proud lmao...We can take an LS1, we already have better low end power, just gotta do some top end work and we make them out slaves hahaha......ok ok, LS1's are mean too, sorry, but its still fun to beat on em when we can haha

from what i've read is that they dont really make a descent intake manifold for these motors. so thats the biggest weak point.

Lt1s use a reverse cooling system so that makes heads and everything different from a regular small block. The stock manifold are not too bad with a little port work another option is a small block single plane adapted to the lt1

The intake manifold can take alot, you just have to port it. The LT1 is a REVERSE FLOW cooling engine....WAY different cooling than a SB350.
