CAI install problem
Hey guys, I decided to put in my Moroso CAI I got a while back (used and came with a massivly dirty filter
) and ran into a problem. which way does that metal thing have to go in? I took a picture of how it is in, and it seems to be an inch too high as my hood does not want to close all the way.
Few questions:
1. do I have to flip the metal thing around?
2. do you have to move your relay box? (that thick bunch of wires coming out seems to be a pain to move)
3. what are those threads on the metal that the filter is on for and where would I have to screw it down? Is it ok not to screw it in?
I quickly did this in the dark so maybe in the morning tomorrow with the sun it would be much easier to do. Let me know if I did anything wrong so tomorrow in the morning I will correct it
Pictures were taking with my cellphone so they are not the best but the picture showing the metal thing where the filter attaches to, there is a gap the size of a finger between that and being fully in.

When you say metal thing, do you mean the hose clamp, or the plate?
The plate isn't required, it's just a separator so that they cool and warm air don't mix (if that makes any sense.) That plate usually has a side that says this end up or vice versa.
Try sliding the filter higher up onto the duct? It should flex so you can put it on a bigger diameter duct...just slide it up and then retighten it.

If its not required I'm just going to not use it since that is what causing my fitment issues. I bought it used so its a bit rusted so I can't tell what side is what but thanks for the advice, I will get on it tomorrow in the a.m.
