It was with the 402 in it..this 408 has a little more power in it..and I'm swapping in 3.90 Gears so it will have a little more get-up n go.

Nice, Im trying to decide what gears to go with next. Ive got a TH350 with 28" tires now, and I doubt 3.73's are going to cut it. I cant afford a 12 bolt right now, but I was considering 4.56's for the 10 bolt. If it happens to break then oh well. I have a girdle on it, and I may swap for some Moser axles.

What do you think?

burnout in 1st in an auto is a no-no. if your car can't do a burnout in 2nd, park it and race your fathers astro van.

If you leave when you see the green you're late.

Why arent you supposed to do a burnout in 1st gear? Ive done it in 1st everytime and had zero issues. If you put it in 2nd gear, the tranny starts in 1st and shifts to 2nd. Whats the difference?

something like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-Tm1xUwUvI

1) quick spin of the tires in the water box
2) pull forward out of the water
3) get tire spinning in 1st
4) shift to 2nd, hold for 3-5 seconds
5) let off brake, hold throttle pressure
6) let off throttle when tires bite

i have had success with stalling it up to 2-3k rpms. 1.68 60ft bolt on only LT1. and i do my burnouts in 2nd and let the tranny shift on its own.

I think that would be too low..4.10's might work better.

Like the other guys said, if you put it down into 2nd, it will just go thru first and then into 2nd. What's the difference? And my dad doesn't have an astro van, so I'm screwed i geuss...

What light to leave on depends on the car and driver. When my car was slower and so was I had had to leave on the second yellow. These days with the car and I quicker I do sometimes redlight dropping the hammer on the third yellow.
