You don't have to worry about your tuition...but how about housing, food, etc.? Does the post 9/11 G.I. bill take care of that now? I left the military and went to college in '07 (finished up this past May). I was stuck with paying housing and everything else.
Having been in your position, I would say to keep the money in the bank. :2cents: I had one paid off vehicle and I have to say that I'm glad I had ZERO debt going into it, because I finished with a LOT more than that.

You only have to take 7 hours to get the housing allotment so you can go to school part time and still get paid.
The new GI bill pays the school directly and gives you a housing allotment for the area plus up to a grand a year for books. If your cheap its plenty of money.
