Default New Best 60ft

Well I broke the stock ten bolt last year so I got another 10bolt this time with 3.73s instead of 3.42s. Also removed the rest of the HVAC system (already had the compressor and condenser gone) so that was probably about 60lbs.

Best pass from last year:

DA: ~ 300ft

60ft: 1.543
330ft: 4.842
1/8th: 7.570
MPH: 87.134

The pass yesterday looked like this:

DA: ~ 2100ft

60ft: 1.530
330ft: 4.808
1/8th: 7.596
MPH: 88.356

Last year with the 3.42s I would leave it in 2nd since it was shifting into 3rd right at the traps. Now it shifts into 3rd in plenty of time before the traps which I why the MPH increased. The first chance I will have to run it in the 1/4 will be late April at Pinks All Out.

Damn that thing does work. Imagine spraying it about 10ft out.

Yea the car works pretty well for having bone stock 140k mile suspension. If the track prep is great it works fine, otherwise it is really hit or miss. The rear shocks are too soft and the car squats a ton. I'm gonna start with subframes, torque arm, Dana 60, and a drag bar as soon as I get my tax return back.

Could you lock the torque convertor and delay shift after 1/8?

II know they claim it will get you ~200 rpm not sure if that is enough...but along with a slightly higher 2 3 shift might be worth considering to drop the time back

Nice improvement either way

Which PINKS all out will you be racing at? I'll be racing at the Maple Grove one up here in PA. Nice 60' by the way!

It was only a problem with the 3.42s. I have 3.73s now so I don't have to worry about it.

The one at ZMax in Charlotte, NC. I doubt I will make it into the actual show but it is a chance to make a couple passes with the track prepped really well.

Yep when I read what you posted I see now you are into drive...3.42 was when you could have MAYBE held or used lockup...

Good luck

Yea it was easy enough just to leave it in second. Can't wait to run it out the back door in a month.
