I ran open Pacesetter LT's for a few days but it made me really nervous because the fuel lines were right after the collector. It sounded so good though haha

I ran open headers for a week until I could get my y-pipe on. It will be really loud, you'll smell exhaust all the time, and it will run rich. But that's it.

Wait, you have no collectors? lol.

The collector is where the 4 primaries merge to form one larger end.

Its slip fit if it is just plain and straight, its flanged if it has a big piece on the end with usually 3 holes for your nuts and bolts...

Don't worry about 30 min for putting on some extra piping, go WOT a few times, get a headache and enjoy =)

Like everybody else said for just that short trip you'll be fine. If you really wanted to you could clamp some piping on after the collectors, but probably not necessary for one trip. There is a chance of screwing up the O2s but its not real high.

Man I came into my neighborhood once at like midnight with open headers. Tried to keep it as "quiet" as possible. I felt like such a dick but at least it was only once

I ran for almost a year on open Jet Hots. Start up is loud, and WOT is loud, but just cruising is not bad. 20-30 miles will be fine.

What do you mean?

The collectors, as stated, are already part of the headers. It is where the 4 tubes merge into one big tube.

I drove mine around for a couple of days with about 14" of 3" pipe on the Headers when I first installed my 408..I had them pointing out to the sides. That **** sounded richeous..

I passed 2 cops that were sitting at a gas station as I was going to a friends house..they both gave me a thumbs up..lol

As long as you aren't being stupid you'll be fine.

There is a fuse for the o2's??? Learn something everyday. What is it labeled? Is it under hood or driver's side of dash?

I did it for about 6 months on my stock LT1, it was cool when I was younger but no way in **** I'd do it again. I get annoyed with open headers idling now.
