Question Any Ideas???

My cars been down for a while and I finished my LE1 stage and got it tuned by Moe Baily about 3 weeks ago. After the tune we took it for a spin and as I slow down on a turn the car dies on us. Battery charge went down. I have a new alternator and battery and have checked the wires. Car cranks just fine its until I run it and slow down that it jus dies on me. The battery goes below 8 volts and then doesnt want to crank again. Any ideas on this problem??? thought about changing my opti but dnt rly know if thats the problem...or maybe the coil? Help please

I would have the new alternator tested. It's not uncommon for new ones to be faulty.

^yeah it really sounds like the alternator. It's definatly not the opti or the coil

Battery should last longer than that but have the new alt tested and then take a real good look at the feed that comes off the alt and see if that wire is trashed. Then look at the rest of the cables. Check the ends that go to the batt and make sure they are nice and clean. Another thing you can do is test the batt cables them self to see how much resistance is on them and that they are clean at the other ends to. Check the ground batt cable where it goes to the block and make sure the block has no paint there in the threads if all else fails.

I have gotten it checked out and battery cables are fine...this is weird! Were going to check the rockers and re adjust them again, could be that the timing is off and rockers are too tight...dnt kno but thats another possibility??

advanced auto and auto zone do free alternator and battery testing, take it there. battery could just not be holding a charge. also make sure all the connections to the alt are good and tight

A dead cell in a battery will cause the car to run fine under a load and die at a low idle.

With the engine running, use a volt meter to test the lead off of the alternator (wire fastened with nut to back of alternator). It should read a steady 14.5 volts. If it doesn't then it is bad.

Battery is good according to auto zone n it should be cuz its brand new.
Volt meter read about 13.5 volts. I'm telling ya the battery n alternator are good its gota be something else I still haven't had time to readjust rockers
