Default Nitrous Question

How much do you think a 100% stock cid LT1 with forged pistons & rods, stock crank, ARP hardware, resealed, reringed, & rebearinged would hold?

Ive seen a stock LT1 hold a 200 & myself ran a 150 for over a year with no problems on my old '96.

I would think a completely stock LT1 w/ bulletproof bottom end would hold some power...

Aren't "completely stock" and "bulletproof bottom" end mutually exclusive? Just saying.

Cubic inches has nothing to do with it. What you're describing is a built engine , regardless is the size...

Call it what you want, Im talking about a basic rebuild with the addition of stronger pistons & rods and upgraded hardware. Not even .30+. Keeping the stock CR as well.

I dont really see where theres any extra power being made aside from rotating mass maybe being less.

Regardless thats OT. Given what Ive described above how much nitrous would it hold...

Contradicting yourself again. "basic rebuild" does not include "stronger rods, forged pistons, and upgraded hardware"....

Dude if you want to call that a "built motor" then by all means. Thats not the point & I dont care.

If somebody had what I mentioned & called it built Id laugh at them...but to each his own.

How about the question at hand...have any input on that???

oh, and i hope its a direct port at that level with dedicated fuel system. lt1 intake sucks at dispersing nitrous evenly to each cylinder

I was thinking more like 300+ to be honest.

I would think the crank would hold up better myself. The caps I hadnt thought about, but that could be accounted for.

I think it would live with 300 or so. Hell small blocks do it all the time, you just need to have your tune up right and pray the main caps hold up. I think the stock crank would be just fine to be honest.

300+ with a good tune and a DP system + stand alone. I wouldnt go above 200 on a stock intake with a plate kit.

Im still searching for a stock LT1 crank failure.....since I have never seen one yet.
