Turbo'd 383 build thread
I'm getting close to finishing up my car so I figured I would go ahead and make a build thread. A little history... I officially put the car down back in October 2007 when I pulled the transmission to beef it up just for the heck of it. Then a couple months later I decided to pull the motor and either make it a 383 stroker or turbocharge it... I ended up doing both . So as you can see, it's been nearly 3 years since my car has ran. I have been slowly buying things one by one and now it's getting verrrry close to the end.
Run down of what is done:
Engine:
Fully forged 383 stroker
Head studs
Studded and splayed main caps
High pressure oil pump
Comp cams custom grind
Ported stock heads
LS7 lifters
1.6rr pro mags
Dual valve springs
Forced Induction:
Turbonetics T-76
Realquick's hotparts
Intercooler
Ported intake
AS&M Monoblade
Tial 50mm blow off valve
Tial 44mm wastegate
Hallman manual boost controller
2-bar map sensor
Fuel system:
Aeromotive adjustable FPR
60lb/hr fuel injectors
Walbro 255 pump with hotwire kit
Drivetrain:
Built 4l60e
Yank 3,200 stall
Midwest Chassis fab'd 9"
Strange aluminum center section
31 spline axles
3.00 gears
PST chromoly driveshaft
Misc:
ABS Delete
A/C delete
Emissions stuff deleted
Converted to vented optispark
MSD Coil
Here is the progress pictures I took over the years. I didn't take many pictures in the rebuilding process:
More to come...

Well typically for a turbo car with an automatic you want to keep it a low gear ratio. Helps keep the turbo's spooled up during those long gears. I probably went a little lower than most do though. It's a street car and I like to keep it at low RPM's.
Yep, ported stock castings. I spent a solid 24 hours on porting those heads. Making sure each port is consistent and flawless. The valves are stock size but upgraded to Manley competition intake and severe duty exhaust.
It's made by Arizona Speed & Marine. Once you see the price you might turn around. I got it brand new for $350 and I was not going to pass that up.

You should PM me with how much you've spent so far on this build.
I am very curious as I've always wanted a 383 turbo build...
I am drooling to see your results! Good, clean looking build!
